The Bond Building is located just off of AIA in Fort Lauderdale. The program for this project was to rework an existing office building and replace replacing existing windows and storefront glass. The existing windows were replaced with a window system which has operable anodized aluminum louvers on the exterior and double hung windows on the interior. The exterior louvers allow for solar control, security and hurricane protection. While the interior double hung windows function as any other window would. The storefront glass at a ground level retail space and the curved corner was replaced with glass block. Notable about the curved glass is its support from the rear allowing for an unbroken plane of glass block without structural interruption. Existing stair and balcony railings were replaced with horizontal pipe rail.
